AACRAO Webinar: The Coronavirus: Implications and Recommendations for Admissions and Registrars Offices
Mar 6 @ 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

The Wuhan Coronavirus (COVID-19) has had sweeping impacts for admissions offices and registrars, limiting recruitment travel, casting a shadow of uncertainty over Chinese enrollments, and complicating efforts for students to request transcripts and letters from institutions in China. In this webinar, we explore implications for admissions and registrars offices, share notable responses and case studies, and offer suggestions for how universities may respond to the crisis to best support their students.

CIS Webinar: What is school accreditation and how does it impact the university admissions process?
Mar 10 @ 8:00 am – 9:00 am
What is school accreditation and
how does it impact the university admissions process?

Tuesday 10 March
8:00–09:00 am EST | 13:00–14:00 pm CET | 20:00–21:00 pm SGTRegister for this webinar

University admission officers may consider school accreditation as part of an admission decision. This webinar will address some misconceptions about the meaning of accreditation, helping school counsellors and university admissions representatives in the following ways:

University admissions—understand what accreditation means, what it may (or may not) signify in the admissions process, and how it relates to the credentials awarded to the student by the school.

School counsellors—understand how universities perceive accreditation and how admissions officers use accreditation when considering student applications.

Learn how this perspective potentially differs across different types of post-secondary institutions and different higher education systems.

Leading the discussion: Our webinar panellists

Margaret Wenger, Senior Director of Evaluation at the Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE)

Simon Taylor,
Associate Director of School Support & Evaluation at CIS

Panetha Ott,
Director of Admission, International Recruitment at Brown University
