In the United Kingdom, both the General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) and A-Levels have recently been reformed, and a new grading system has been brought in for GCSEs. Participants will learn about the old and new grading systems, as well as receive background information on the nature of the reforms.
Look at exam boards and how they assess students at each level of education; learn about the ‘Sixth Form,’ A-Level performance and subject choice, and how this relates to university admissions; and examine some of the differences across England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales (there isn’t just one UK system).

DESCRIPTION: After too many years in international education to mention, it recently dawned on me that things people outside of the profession have said to me can be applied to what we do in our jobs. This webinar will describe how various comments, remarks, observations and advice from important people in my life have unknowingly formed how I undertake credentials evaluation and how you can adapt what I have learned.

Short summary:
Internationalization is a phenomenon that has been closely connected with change and innovation, less so with inclusion. The goals of many national and institutional initiatives for internationalization are connected to aspirations for transformation: to enhance quality, to expand learning opportunities, to engage with new and different stakeholders.
Change dynamics are complex, presenting many challenges and opportunities. Innovative and inclusive approaches to internationalization offer possibilities for the transformation of individuals, institutions, and systems of higher education that serve the common good in meaningful ways. This event provides a forum for students, scholars, and practitioners to explore new ways to move change agendas forward in a variety of contexts.
This event is hosted by the Boston College Center for International Higher Education (CIHE) and World Education Services (WES).
