President’s Message: July 2017 Edition

0

Welcome to the latest edition of the TAICEP Newsletter.

A recent collaboration with another organization was TAICEP’s symposium on credential evaluation at the Groningen Declaration Network meeting in Melbourne in April. In an upcoming report you will learn more about how TAICEP is helping set standards for digitized student data. TAICEP is ensuring that the voice of international credential evaluators is represented as this important initiative takes form.

With this edition, you will see that our newsletter editor, Peggy Bell Hendrickson, is working with our Marketing committee chair, Shereen Mir-Jabbar, and converting the newsletter into a more dynamic and useful tool. New formatting will provide easy access to articles and a means of saving information in a manner that will make it available for customized member use.  Peggy will be able to accept articles and other contributions on a rolling basis, making it easier for members to share their information.  So get in touch with Peggy and Shereen with your newsletter ideas!

This newsletter includes articles on differing credential evaluation outcomes, Turkish higher education, foreign high school credentials, building a resource library, and much more. These are all topics that require our attention. We are lucky to have members who have shared their expertise on these timely issues.

As you begin planning your holidays and before you take off for travel or relaxation, make sure to register for the Third TAICEP Annual Meeting that will take place in September 5-8 in Rome. We have an exciting program focused entirely on international credential evaluation. You can help grow the Association and keep it healthy by telling your professional colleagues about the meeting and encouraging them to attend. Your early registration will help us properly plan excellent local arrangements and ensure that you have a place at the most stimulating and useful meeting for our profession.

I look forward to seeing you in Italy. Ciao!
