Participants will learn about current AI adoption, main barriers, and opportunities. QualifAI will share how the results and talk about how the results will further contribute to a feasibility study and testing of AI tools, aimed at giving insights to the ENIC-NARIC community on how they can adopt AI in their recognition processes.

Participants will gain insights into the current state of AI adoption within credential recognition processes, including the main challenges and opportunities encountered. The QualifAI team will present the survey findings, explaining how these results will inform a feasibility study and support the plan to test AI tools. With these activities, the project aims to create practical guidelines and recommendations on the adoption of AI tools in credential recognition processes.

The session is designed for credential evaluators, leaders, managers, policy officers, and communication professionals seeking practical insights to guide digital transformation in their organizations.

Presenter: Miguel Jacques, The Norwegian ENIC-NARIC Office

Miguel Jacques, co-leads the QualifAI project and works as a senior information officer at the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills, The Norwegian ENIC-NARIC Office.

He has several years of experience in the field of Education and has specialized in communication provisions and digitalization processes. People learn best when they are truly seen. Education should not only transfer knowledge or train skills, but help people become confident, capable and fully human. Rooted in UNESCO’s principles of knowing, doing and being, real learning is more than exams and outcomes. Knowing is what we understand. Doing is how we apply it. Being is who we become. When all three work together, learning becomes transformative. This initiative focuses especially on learners who fall outside “normal” systems, including neurodivergent learners, creative thinkers, embodied learners and those whose intelligence shows up through patterns, movement, intuition or storytelling. The webinar will discuss practical tools, case studies and training approaches that help educators and systems create learning environments where belonging comes first and performance follows. This proposal is about one truth: when learners are seen, they don’t just succeed, they become.

Presenter: Navin Vasudev

Navin Vasudev is an international education and qualifications specialist with 20+ years’ experience across Africa, South Asia, and North America. In many countries, the varied use of titles can cause confusion, for instance, between a nurse aide and a practical/enrolled nurse. When such entry-level distinctions are misunderstood, so too are nurses’ training and credentials, and the risk of misclassifying higher-level roles, such as specialty nurses versus APNs, increases significantly. Accurately understanding and distinguishing between Advanced Practice Nursing roles and specialty nursing roles can be challenging because Advanced Practice Nursing is a relatively new field. Job titles alone are unreliable indicators of APN. Similar terminology may describe roles with very different levels of education, regulation, and clinical authority across jurisdictions. Likewise, specialty areas involve advanced competencies but do not automatically meet internationally recognized APN standards. This webinar begins with an overview of nursing roles and education for nurse aides, practical or enrolled nurses, registered nurses, specialist nurses, and advanced practice nurses, establishing a baseline. It then explores emerging APN fields, using examples from the US, UK, Canada, France, and South Africa to guide classification.

Presenter: Lynda Belmehdi, TruMerit

Lynda Belmehdi is a Program Manager at TruMerit, a global leader in nursing credentialing, with 9 years of experience in international education and credential evaluation.

She manages three programs, developing and implementing comprehensive training materials to educate International Credential Evaluators and conducting research on educational systems worldwide.
