Ownership of Products and Services
Definitions
- A product is a tangible object that has been put out for consumption or possession, such as a list of resources or a certificate program; a service is an intangible item where the customer is being sold or given access to something that can’t be touched. This includes any current or future products, projects, services, technology or software created by TAICEP members, supported by TAICEP (e.g., independent contractors) or promoting TAICEP, with the express intent of serving TAICEP members and the larger international credential evaluations population on behalf of TAICEP, supporting TAICEP financially, or enhancing TAICEP’s image and standing in the international community.
- With regard to decisions on the particular matters discussed in this document, “TAICEP” is defined as the Board of Directors of TAICEP.
Control and Right of Use of TAICEP Products and Services
TAICEP reserves the right to control use of its products and services.
Work done by the Board, committees, members of committees, non-members on committees or independent contractors is the property of TAICEP unless otherwise specified in writing by TAICEP.
In the absence of a specific statement/agreement/contract TAICEP declares these products and services as theirs or as otherwise agreed to by TAICEP in writing.
In engaging the services of a TAICEP member or non-member to create products and services (e.g., products, webinars, workshops, conference presentations, projects, services, technology or software, or other TAICEP products) the verbiage in this document will be used to constitute a contract specifying ownership of materials, access to materials, and compensation (if offered), as well as additional parameters required for the activity.
Conference session presentations are exempt from the Definition and List of TAICEP Products and Services. They remain the property of the content creator(s). As stated in the presenter’s agreement, TAICEP retains the right to use this content, as it is presented via a TAICEP platform.
