TAICEP is a global organization dedicated to advancing the field of credential evaluation. Our members are acutely aware of the impact of government policies worldwide on international student mobility and our shared profession. Recently, a significant regulatory proposal has emerged in the United States, serving as an important case study in this area. The U.S. federal government has proposed changes to the “duration of status” rules for nonimmigrant students. In essence, this could shift the current system to one requiring students to apply for extensions of stay within a fixed time period.
